Liver Shunt

The following two references have been found to be useful in understanding the health issues pertaining to liver shunt conditions.

Liver Shunt     This is a major portion of an article published in the Bagpiper. The full text of the article and other health information may be ordered from ScottiePhile.

Liver Shunt     This is a public service website
http://www.livershunt.com

Fanny Mae Liver Shunt Fund  This web site is sponsored by Terri Shumsky, AKC Judge #3585, and owner of a Yorkie (Fanny Mae) that died from a liver shunt in 1986. Her guidance is "Liver Shunt Kills, don't buy a Yorkie without a bile acid test."  The original Fanny Mae Liver Shunt Fund (FMLSF) was organized to help increase public awareness about liver shunt. The fund also provides some financial assistance to individuals that need help affording the life saving surgery that is often needed.
