STCA MEMBERSHIP REAPPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
(PDF Version: 43KB / 1 page)

The STCA dues cycle runs from January 1 to December 31 of each year. Membership dues are to be paid by December 31 for the upcoming year, and a membership is considered to have "lapsed" if the dues are not paid by January 31 of the new membership year. If a membership has lapsed, but a second dues cycle has not occurred, a former member can reapply for membership using the re-application form and process. Otherwise, the lapsed member must reapply under the process for new memberships.

The reapplication form can be found on the STCA website. The member who is reapplying must also sign a new code of ethics, have two STCA members fill out the sponsor's forms, and send in the amount of dues for the year ($30.00 for single and $40.00 for family). The one time initiation fee of $30.00 for a first time applicant is not required of the returning member.

When all forms and dues are received by the membership chair, the reapplying member is eligible to have their application voted on during the next membership vote. The board votes on membership approximately 4 times a year and the applicant should check with the membership chair for the estimated time of the next membership vote. A returning member's application should be voted on prior to the next dues cycle. The reapplication must be complete prior to the vote. The names of the re-applicants will not be published as a re-applicant in the membership section of the Bagpiper; however, re-applicants who are approved for renewed membership will be listed as a returning member in the membership section of the Bagpiper. As with new applicants to membership, the returning member must receive a 2/3 vote of the board to be granted membership.
