Regional STC Specialties
Regional Clubs associated with the STCA may choose to
host one or more Specialty Breed Shows each year. Each
club has the responsibility for picking the judging panel
and completing the necessary paperwork to hold an AKC-sanctioned
event.
NOTICE To Event Secretaries -- Clubs are reminded that your designated
Event Secretary needs to file a letter with the STCA
Corresponding Secretary requesting approval for your show before applying
to the AKC. The STCA approval letter and event
application are due at the AKC twenty four
(24) weeks prior to the proposed closing date.
Please contact the
webmaster for instruction if you have entry forms or
additional show/site specific information that should be
posted on this site.
Click on the Regional Specialty Schedule link above for a listing of
specialty shows that have been approved for this year.
Information will only be posted to this page once the show
has been approved by the STCA and the application has been
accepted by the AKC. The schedule page also has links
to show results. We will post show results as soon as the
information is received from the club's Event
Secretary. The STCA will make every effort to post
information as quickly as possible; however, accuracy will
be emphasized over speed. Official sources such as the
Event Secretary or the AKC will be our primary source.

National
(Rotating) Specialties
In approximately 1990, the STCA Board of Directors
organized the Regional Scottish Terrier Clubs into four regional groups.
The objective was to provide a mechanism for sharing the
privilege of hosting a national specialty among all of the
affiliated clubs. Since 1991 the annual
National Rotating Specialty has been rotated among these four regional
groups, with each club in the region having an equal
opportunity to host the specialty.
The current list of regional groups and the STCs in each group
is shown below.

Montgomery County Information
The annual Montgomery County Kennel Club (MCKC) dog show
is certainly a Special Event in the mind of many Scottie
fanciers. Sanctioned by the AKC as an All-Terrier
(versus an All-Breed) Show this event is attended by people
from all over the United States as well as many countries
around the world.
The STCA sponsors a series of events over the entire
Montgomery County weekend that help make this an awesome
weekend. The official STCA Information Packet published
each summer provides
information on area hotels, maps to the various show sites
and the latest schedule of events.
