Captain Jack in TX
Jack is a 3 yr old neutered Toy Manchester Terrier.
Super-traveler Captain Jack is
doggedly determined to find his very own person! This cute, very
sweet little guy would prefer for a woman to be his main human
focus, though the right man can also win him over. Are you a steady,
patient, low-key person? Jack wants YOU! He spent his first 2-3
years in a puppy mill pen being picked on by other dogs. He's okay
around other dogs today, but he seems to expect everything to pick
on him until proven otherwise. Every sudden sound or movement
startles him--he dashes off to safety and dashes back to peek at
what's happening. That’s how we know he really wants to be connected
to someone; he just keeps coming back. Now Jack is looking for
someone who will gently and firmly keep him next to her,
protecting him from abuse while teaching him what's normal. His
perfect person will help Jack to discover how much fun life can be.
Do you travel? Have other pets? Work at home? Work away from home?
Captain Jack says "bring it on!" He is a great driving buddy, riding
calmly on the seat or in a crate. In his foster home, Captain Jack
mostly ignores the resident cats and dogs. The only issue he has is
his mistrust of other dogs' invitations to play---in his world,
doggy "play" means "gang up on Jack." After three weeks here, he is
starting to invite play now. Jack stays in his crate through the day
while his foster mom works, and sleeps peacefully there at night. He
can take care of potty needs outdoors, but he is still figuring out
the idea that this is a MUST. It's too soon to allow him enough
liberty to decide whether it's convenient to wait for you to come
home and let him out. Please email Gerry ladybugbmf@aol.com if you
are interest in Jack.
Angel
is being foster in Texas. Angel is a survivor of a min pin
puppy mill seizure in Fort Worth TX area. She came to AMTC
rescue Heartworm Positive and needing dental and sterilization,
wormings and vaccinations. Although extremely shy when she first
came into the program, she has really blossomed. She is still
working on Housebreaking and Crate Training. She is good with other
dogs (loves the dobermans) and does well on lead. Slowly learning
that toys and chewies are special treats. She is a very special dog
and her foster mom will be very particular in where she goes. She
has spent all her life mass producing puppies and deserves to be
treated like royalty now! If you are interest in Angel contact Dina

Please meet "Ray "he is like a
Ray of sunshine". He is a handsome
button ear male standard Manchester
terrier. At 7 years old you would never know it, he loves
to play and acts much younger. He is UTD on all vaccinations, HW
clear, dewormed, micro chipped, and neutered. Ray would make a
wonderful companion to an adult family. If you are interested in
adopting Ray please fill out an adoption application and sent it to
jimshumake@cox. net and/or Kris Barlak at

In_a_SHELTER_or_other_Groups_Rescue
In an attempt to assist as many Manchester Terriers as possible, AMTC Rescue has added this page to showcase dogs in the care of other rescue groups or in shelter. These dogs are not part of our foster system, and so we can make no guarantees as to their health or temperaments. Some are purebred Manchesters and some are mixes. These rescues all have one thing in common: they need homes. Please consider opening your heart and home to one of these little faces. You will be rewarded with a lifetime of love and companionship. If you are interested in one of these rescues, please contact the agency with which the dog is listed, NOT AMTC Rescue. AMTC Rescue takes no responsibility for the actions of any other organization or prospective adopters. Contact Kris Barlak for further information regarding this.
