SECRETARY'S REPORT – 3 RD QUARTER 2009

BOARD ACTIONS
*Motion by Flo Laicher, second by Brenda Weiss; that the Board accept the revised guidelines for the Judges Selection Committee, as emailed by Judy Brown. Motion passed unanimously.

* Motion by Kathy Lee, second by Flo Laicher; that the Board approve the Annual Meeting minutes, as revised. Motion passed unanimously.

* Motion by Kathy Lee, second by Bret Zacher; that the Board approve the minutes of the Board Meetings held on March 23 rd and 24 th . Motion passed unanimously.

*Motion by Kathy Lee, second by Bret Zacher; that the Board approve the minutes of the Board Meeting held March 27 th . Motion passed unanimously.

*Motion by Bret Zacher, second by Janet Ingram; that the minutes of the June 11, 2009 Conference Call be approved. Motion passed unanimously.

AKC CORRESPONDENCE
- Email letter announcing the new program for mixed breeds
- Email letter regarding CAR (Companion Animal Recovery) program
- Email public education newsletter, covering AKC news, public education and club communications
- Email announcement of AKC's new Canine Legislation Tracking System

GENERAL CORRESPONDENCE
- Email advertisement for crate and kennel signs from chimes of Your Life
- Email from Miller Country Dogs, advertising breed items available
- Email invitation from the Havanese Club of America to attend Dr. Robert Hutchison's reproduction seminar August 19 th , 2009 in Lombard, IL.

PUBLIC INFORMATION/BREEDER REFERRAL

For the months of April, May and June, Mary McGuire, Chair of the Publoic Information and Breeder Referral Committee responded to a total 107 inquiries.
