Who Are We?
Welcome to the STCA Web
Site
The Scottish Terrier Club of America members are a diverse
group united in their interest in the breed. They spend time with their dogs at
home on the sofa and at a variety of activities, including social events and
all kinds of competitions. Some also breed and raise puppies. Some participate
in the rescue and rehoming of
abandoned or unwanted Scots. All love their dogs.
Our club sponsors two conformation specialty shows, and at
least one obedience trial, one earthdog trial and one agility trial each year
to encourage quality breeding and sportsmanlike competition and fellowship. It
offers support to twenty local
Scottish Terrier clubs, each serving its area and hosting all kinds of
activities.
Our Spring specialty show rotates around the country and our
Fall specialty is held in conjunction with Montgomery County Kennel Club's show
in Blue Bell, PA. For current show information, please visit our
Specialty & Special Event
Information page.
As one of the most progressive of breed clubs, the Scottish
Terrier Club of America formed a Health Trust Fund ten years ago and gave it the job of
surveying and educating about health issues and finding ways of addressing
genetic problems.
The STCA has taken an active role in rescue since the
1970's, and in 2005, a Rescue Trust Fund was established to accept tax
deductible donations, to support rescue groups with necessary funding, and to
be prepared for emergency needs, such as the closing of large puppy mills."
Club member Mary O'Neal has developed a web site containing
the pedigrees of
over 110,000 Scottish Terriers, providing an invaluable resource to fanciers
and breeders and historians.
Through the information provided here, we hope to convey who
we are, what we do and how you can learn about our beautiful, intelligent,
versatile and determined little dogs and join with us in protecting and
enjoying them.

to add several new areas to this section alone. Some of the planned
coming attractions include:
An STCA Club History section with A
Listing of Past Presidents A Listing of previous
Specialty Winners A Listing of National Award

We would also like to add a capability to allow individual

modification may include a registration form. Back to Top
Greetings from the STCA Web
Technology Committee
At the request of the Board, Jim Orsborn has accepted the
position of Chairman for the club's Web Technology Committee. Additional
members were asked to join the committee and to help with the process of
re-designing the club's Web site. Michael Cerone and Pam Wilson have agreed to
help with the design task and will be helping to post new information as it
becomes available. In addition, the committee is fortunate to have Marion Krupp
who will support the effort with artwork that is needed to keep the site
attractive and inviting to the Internet community.
The STCA Web site is a powerful instrument of communication
that serves people from all around the world. Because it is available to
anyone, not just club members, the site should convey a message that is
consistent with the vision of the STCA Board.
The committee began the effort in the late Spring and
developed a working model of the design concept. The end product has taken more
time than originally anticipated, but we are pleased to be able to present the
work that has been completed prior to the important Montgomery County weekend
shows. The Web Technology Committee looks forward to serving the STCA
membership and we hope to be able to provide a finished web site that we can
all point to with pride.
Maintenance of the STCA Web site is expected to be an
ongoing task. It will not be possible to maintain the site without
support of the membership. If you see an element that you believe needs
to be corrected, please send an email to the committee member that is
identified as the "Content Provider" and whose name is linked to an email
address that can be used to submit the comment.
And finally, we are still in need of additional support on
the Web Technology Committee. If you can help support the committee,
please contact us for additional information.
