GPCA Rescue Update, July 2006
Across the country we are dealing with more rescue dogs in large numbers that are in need of our help. It has been wonderful watching the rescue groups all working together and helping each other where needed, either with taking dogs in to their programs, home visits, transporting and monetary help.
Most of the Illinois dogs that came into the rescue programs have been adopted, or are in foster homes. We are still looking at a few of them that are in need of some surgeries and medical attention.
The Texas area seems to be overloaded with rescue dogs, with the SPIN group having approximately 80 dogs that are in need of homes, fosters and medical treatments. If you can provide them with any assistance contact latuttle@us.ibm.com.
Rescue dog numbers have risen throughout the country and all rescues need help from Pyr fanciers.
The GPCA will now have AVID microchips available to our rescue groups or rescue individuals at an affordable cost, $10.25 per microchip which includes the fee for registration. To obtain more information about ordering rescue mircrochips, please contact Mary McGuire, pyrplus@netpluscom.com
